BORN HULL 1895. SON OF GEORGE ROBERT CUDBERTSON (1869-1939) & BETSIE ANN NORTON (1868-1940), 52, NEW GEORGE STREET, HULL. HE HAD A BROTHER AND THREE SISTERS AND A LARGE EXTENDED FAMILY WITHIN THE AREA. EMPLOYED AS A LABOURER. HE MARRIED KATE MCPHERSON IN 1913. HE ENLISTED IN HULL, ON 09/12/1914, AGED 19 YEARS AND 300 DAYS. DESCRIBED AS 5 FOOT, 3 INCHES TALL, 34 INCH CHEST, 112 LBS WEIGHT. HE ARRIVED IN FRANCE, ON 02/06/1915. SERVED WITH THE 2ND EAST YORKSHIRE REGIMENT. REPORTED WOUNDED, MISSING AND LATER KILLED IN ACTION, ON 04/10/1915, AGED 20. HE HAD SERVED IN THE ARMY FOR EXACTLY 300 DAYS, 125 OF WHICH HAD BEEN SPENT AT THE FRONT.
HE IS RECORDED AS KILLED ON HULL’S NEW GEORGE STREET ROLL OF HONOUR (Hull Daily Mail 03 November 1917).

HIS DEATH WAS REPORTED IN THE HULL DAILY MAIL, ON 17/05/1915 & THE HDM, 03/11/1917. HIS ARMY EFFECTS INCLUDED PHOTOS AND FOUR CARDS WERE RETURNED TO HIS MOTHER BETSEY ANN.
