HE ENLISTED IN HULL, ON 05/02/1916, AGED 22 YEARS AND 1 MONTH. ARRIVED IN FRANCE, ON 16/07/1916. SERVED AS PRIVATE, 220037, 10TH EAST YORKSHIRE REGIMENT. WOUNDED ON 29/06/1917. REPORTED MISSING AND CAPTURED, ON 12/04/1918. WAS A FORMER PRISONER OF WAR. REPATRIATED TO ENGLAND, ON 22/11/1918 TO 111 , ST GEORGES ROAD, HULL (1918 MILITARY VOTERS ADDRESS). HE DIED OF WOUNDS (TUMOR & PLEURISY) ON 25/03/1919, AGED 25.
THERE IS NO CWGC RECORD OF HIS DEATH.

HE IS COMMEMORATED ON THE WW1 MEMORIAL AT ST JOHN THE BAPTIST CHURCH, NEWINGTON, HULL.
