BORN FLAMBOROUGH 1880. ELDEST SON OF BENJAMIN & FRANCES ELIZABETH DANBY. HE LIVED WITH HIS PARENTS AT 29 FINSBURY STREET. BEFORE THE WAR HE WORKED THE NORTH EASTERN RAILWAYS (1911 CENSUS) AND FOR MESSRS. HEWLETT, STONEFERRY. HE HAD YOUNGER SISTERS AND A BROTHER. HE ENLISTED IN HULL. SERVED AS PRIVATE, 3456, 20TH TYNESIDE SCOTS. HE WAS ACCIDENTALLY KILLED, ON 28/08/1916, AGED 36. HIS ARMY EFFECTS WERE LEFTTO HIS FATHER, BENJAMIN. HE WAS REPORTED KILLED IN THE HULL DAILY MAIL WITH HIS PHOTOGRAPH, ON HDM 13/09/1916 & HDM 27/08/1917. *
HE IS BURIED AT RATION FARM MILITARY CEMETERY, LA CHAPELLE-D’ARMENTIERES.
