POSTED TO FRANCE, ON 15/08/1914. KILLED IN ACTION, ON 29/10/1914, AGED 29. HIS ARMY EFFECTS WERE LEFT TO MARGARET BENNY AND SISTERS, FLORENCE, CHARLOTTE AND LILIAN.
HIS DEATH WAS REPORTED IN THE HULL DAILY MAIL ON 12TH DECEMBER 1914, AND THE HULL TIMES, ON THE 19TH DECEMBER 1914, WITH HIS PHOTOGRAPH. *
HE IS COMMEMORATED ON LE TOURET MEMORIAL, FRANCE.
