Dawson, Frederick George

BORN HUGGATE, POCKLINGTON 1884. SON OF REUBEN AND ALICE DAWSON. MARRIED 1912. WIFE MINNIE GERTRUDE WILSON AND TWO DAUGHTERS, LIVING AT THIS LORNE STREET ADDRESS. BEFORE THE WAR HE WAS AN OIL MILL LABOURER. HE WAS ONE OF THE FIRST SENT TO FRANCE. DANGEROUSLY WOUNDED ON THE 10TH NOVEMBER, 1914. HE REMAINED UNCONSCIOUS UNTIL HIS DEATH. FRED DIED OF WOUNDS AT THE 13TH GENERAL HOSPITAL, BOULOGNE ON 7TH DECEMBER 1914, AGED 30. HE IS BURIED AT BOULOGNE EASTERN CEMETERY, PAS DE CALAIS, FRANCE. HIS DEATH WAS REPORTED IN THE HULL DAILY MAIL ON THE 19TH DECEMBER 1914, AND IN THE HULL TIMES, ON 14TH NOVEMBER 1914, WITH HIS PHOTOGRAPH. *
HIS ARMY EFFECTS WERE RETURNED TO HIS WIDOW MINNIE, WHO MARRIED, GEORGE RICHARDS, IN 1915. HIS BROTHER SGT, CHARLES DAWSON, 8628, 9TH NFUS, DIED ON 8TH AUGUST 1916.
