Dawson, Harry

Born Hull, 1886. Son of Edwin Dawson (1850-1908) and Emily Redman Bowser (1855-1930), of Hull and 12, Winchester Mount Armley Leeds. His father was a railway signal fitter. He had three brothers and three sisters. He was the Town Postman, for Armley, Leeds. Married Beatrice Illingworth, at Leeds on 28 Sep 1912.

Formerly (149768) Hull Royal Field Artillery. He transferred as Private, 21577, 18th (Glasgow Yeomanry), Highland Light Infantry. Killed in action, on 25/03/1918, aged 32.

Commemorated on the Pozieres Memorial to the missing.

His brother, Richard Bowser Dawson, served in the EYR during the war. His younger brother, William served in the WYR.
