BORN CROYDON, 08/05/1885. SON OF WILLIAM HENRY DICKINSON AND LILY DICKINSON. MARRIED AT HULL, ON 22/11/1908. HIS WIFE FLORENCE TAMS, AND FOUR DAUGHTERS LIVED AT 2 MILTON TERRACE, SOUTH BOULEVARD, HULL (1911 CENSUS), 11 RIBBLE AVENUE, RIBBLE STREET, HULL AND 10 ALLIANCE AVENUE, HULL (WAR PENSION ADDRESS). HE SERVED AS SECOND ENGINEER, ON THIS MINESWEEPER ‘KING EMPEROR’ WHICH SANK DURING A COLLISION ON 04/02/1916. FIVE CREW WERE LOST.
On February 4th, 1916, the British steamer HMT KING EMPEROR, built in 1914 and operated by British Royal Navy, was lost after a collision. 8 people lost their lives.
