BORN HULL 1884. SON OF THOMAS HAIGH DIMMACK (1860-1902) & SARAH ANN GILL (1861-1915), FROM DAVID’S TERRACE, SCARBOROUGH STREET, HESSLE ROAD, AND 11 CONWAY TERRACE, STRICKLAND STREET, HULL (1901 CENSUS). ONE OF SEVEN CHILDREN AND THREE BROTHERS, KILLED DURING THE WAR. HIS FATHER DIED IN 1902. HIS MOTHER DIED IN 1915. HE MARRIED BEATRICE ELLEN DIBNAH IN 1906. HIS WIFE BEATRICE AND THREE YOUNG DAUGHTERS, LIVED AT 1 EMILY GROVE, BRIGHTON STREET AND THIS ADDRESS. BEFORE THE WAR HE WORKED AS A FISH CURER. HE ENLISTED IN HULL. PROMOTED TO LANCE CORPORAL. DIED OF WOUNDS ON 21/04/1918, AGED 34. HE IS BURIED: AT BOULONGE EASTERN CEMETERY, PAS DE CALAIS, FRANCE.
HE LEFT A WIFE AND YOUNG FAMILY. DAUGHTERS, ETHEL, BEATRICE AND IVY. SONS TOM AND A BABY BOY, WHO DIED IN INFANCY. HIS WIDOW BEATRICE LIVED UNTIL 1968. HE ALSO LEFT BEHIND SISTERS, HARRIET, MARY JANE, AND ETHEL & BROTHERS, GEORGE AND ALFRED. TWO OTHER BROTHERS, JOHN WILLIAM DIMMACK & JOE DIMMACK, ALSO DIED IN THE WAR.
