BORN HULL 1885. SON OF JOSEPH ATKINSON DIXON (1859-1928) & DINAH DIXON (1862-1918), OF 235, BEVERLEY ROAD, HULL AND  133, PARK GROVE, HULL (ARMY ADDRESS). HE HAD TWO BROTHERS AND ONE SISTER, MRS STEPHENSON AT 57 RARK ROAD, HULL. HE WAS EDUCATED AT HULL GRAMMAR SCHOOL. UNMARRIED. DESCRIBED AS 5 FOOT, 4 INCHES TALL, 124 LBS WEIGHT,  34-36 INC CHEST, GOOD VISION AND GOOD PHYSICAL DEVELOPMENT.
ENLISTED IN HULL, ON 28/02/1916. POSTED TO FRANCE, ON 05/07/1916. JOINED THE 7TH EAST YORKSHIRE REGIMENT, IN THE FIELD, ON 08/09/1916. KILLED IN ACTION AT THE SOMME, ON 14/02/1917, AGED 31. COMMEMORATED ON THE THIEPVAL MEMORIAL.

HE LEFT HIS ARMY EFFECTS AND £118 IN HIS WILL TO HIS FATHER, JOSEPH ATKINSON DIXON, A COMMERCIAL TRAVELER, AT 133 PARK GROVE, HULL.
