Born Shiptonthorpe, Lincs, 1885. Son of Amos Dorsey (1855-1923) and Mary Richardson (1861-1987). Resided at Market Weighton. Married at Market Weighton on 28 Mar 1910

Husband of Annie Mary Derrick (1884-1957), of 26, Finsbury Grove, Fountain Road, Hull (War Pension address) and later High Street, Market Weighton, Yorkshire (CWGC address).

Worked as a Fish & Chip Fryer, living at 44, Kent Street, Hull (1911 Census)

Enlisted at Hull. Served in the 7th East Yorkshire Regiment. Killed in action, on 10/10/1918, aged 34. His army effects were left to his widow, Annie.

Buried at Montay, France. His CWGC Grave inscription, reads, ONE OF THE DEAREST ONE OF THE BEST NOW IN GOD’S KEEPING SAFE AND AT REST
