Dosser, Herbert

Born Hull 1883. Youngest child of Charles and Mary Ann Dosser, of 8, Mable’s Villas, Holland Street &  12 Wilson Avenue, Holland Street, Hull (1911 Census). Son of a wood sawyer. He had elder sisters Alice and Annie and brother, Harry.

Married  at St Andrews Church Hull, on 11 Apr 1907. Husband of Minnie Ledran, of 3, Churchill Villas, Holland Street, Hull (War Pension address). They had two sons, Charles and Walter.

Employed as a Wood working and Machinist at J.A Hewetson & Co, Dansom Lane Hull – Timber and Hardwood Merchants – Sawing, Planing, Moulding and Turning Mill.

Enlisted at Hull in 8/12/1915. Called up on 7/6/1916. Served with the 14th & 2nd Duke of Wellington’s (West Riding) Regiment. Captured at Arras on 3rd May 1917.

A repatriated Prisoner of War. He died in Hull, on 09/03/1925, aged 42. his war pension went to his widow, Minnie.
