BORN HULL 31/08/1874. SON OF RUEBEN DRINKALL (1849-1914) & HANNAH FORREST (1847-1927), OF THIS CWGC ADDRESS. JOINED THE ROYAL NAVY, ON 01/12/1896. HE ENLISTED AT HULL WHEN WAR BEGAN. SERVED WITH THE 6TH EAST YORKSHIRE PIONEERS. DIED OF DYSENTRY ON 01/10/1915, AGED 42 AT ALEXANDRIA. HIS ARMY EFFECTS WERE LEFT TO HIS MOTHER, HANNAH. HIS NAME IS LISTED ON THE WILLIAMSON STREET MEMORIAL. HE IS BURIED AT ALEXANDRIA (CHATBY) MILITARY AND WAR MEMORIAL CEMETERY, EGYPT. HIS GRAVE INSCRIPTION, READS, “IN HOPE OF A GLORIOUS RESURRECTION”.
