Born Hull. Son of John Charles Eddom (1863-1949) and Annie Elizabeth Bartlett (1867-1933), of Havelock Street, Hull; Son of a fisherman. He had three sisters and two brothers, who lived in the Hessle Road area. He worked as a Fish packer. Described as 5 foot, 3 inches tall, 135 lbs weight, 35-37 inch chest.
He married Florence Hodgson (1894-1980) at Thornton Hall, Hull, on 04/09/1915. Husband of Florence Eddom, of 68 Great Thornton Street, Hull and later the Midland Hotel, Bradford (war pension address)
Enlisted at Hull, on 17/11/1914. Trained at Beverley and Ripon. Served in the Hull Pals, in Egypt and France. Killed in action, on 20/07/1916, aged 26. He had served in the army for 1 year and 247 days.
Buried in France. His grave reads, “ONE OF ENGLAND’S DEAREST AND BEST”
