Edgar, Walter

BORN HULL 1880. SON OF ALBERT EDGAR & CATHERINE (TURNER). LOST TRAWLERMAN OF HULL RECORDS.

The British trawler Andromache was on her way back from the fishing grounds of Iceland, when on April 14th 1917, she was stopped west of the Shetlands by the German submarine U-78 (Otto Dröscher). The master was taken prisoner and the crew of 11 ordered to the lifeboats. She was then scuttled and sunk. Nothing was ever heard of the lifeboats.
