HE ENLISTED IN HULL. FORMERLY 3975, EAST YORKS REGIMENT. TRANSFERRED TO 1/6TH DURHAM LIGHT INFANTRY. KILLED IN ACTION, ON 30/05/1918, AGED 19. UNMARRIED. HIS ARMY EFFECTS WERE LEFT TO HIS MOTHER EDITH.

HE LEFT SISTERS, FLORENCE, EDITH AND EMILY AND OLDER BROTHER WALTER.
COMMEMORATED: Soissons Memorial, Soissons, Departement de l’Aisne, Picardie, France.

HIS NAME IS RECORDED ON THE WW1 MEMORIAL, AT ST JOHN THE BAPTIST CHURCH, NEWINGTON, HULL.
