Born Welwick, Yorkshire, 1897. Son of Jabez and Mary Jane Eldret, of Hollym Near Withernsea. He had two brother and two sisters.
He enlisted in Hull. Formerly, Private, 13/1372, in the Hull Pals. He transferred to the 12th/13th Northumberland Fusiliers. Posted to France, on 29/12/1915. Died on 16/04/1918, aged 20. Commemorated on the Tyne Cot Memorial, Belgium.
His army effects were left to his father, Jabez Eldret
He is also commemorated on the Hollym WW1 Memorial.
