Emsley, Samuel Edward

Born Bradford, 5 Feb 1888. Eldest son of Frederick William Emsley and Mary Sophia Clarke, of 205, Fartown, Pudsey, Leeds (CWGC address). Educated at the Greenside Council School and Primrose Hill School, Pudsey. Served in the Leeds Boys Brigade from 1902-1905. Was a painter and grainer.

Enlisted in Hull, on 14th Oct 1914. Served with the 6th KOYLI. Posted to France, on 17th June 1915. Killed in action, on 18/09/1915, aged 27. Buried at Ypres Reservoir Cemetery, Belgium. His grave, reads, THY WILL BE DONE
