BORN MIDDLESBORO, 1883. SON OF WILLIAM ENGLAND & ELIZABETH NEWBERY (1846-1929). BROTHER TO CHARLES, AMELIA & ANNIE.

HE MARRIED AT HULL, IN 1907, AGED 25. HUSBAND OF ROSE MARGARET STAINTON, OF 118 CAMPBELL STREET, HULL (WAR PENSION ADDRESS). HE WAS EMPLYED AS A LABOURER AT A RADIATOR WORKS IN HULL.

HE ENLISTED HULL. SERVED WITH THE 6TH KING’S OWN YORKSHIRE LIGHT INFANTRY. KILLED IN ACTION, ON 15/09/1916, AGED 33. COMMEMORATED ON THE THIEPVAL MEMORIAL.

HIS WAR PENSION WENT TO HIS WIDOW ROSE AND SON EDWARD. SHE REMARRIED A DISCHARGED SOLDIER, CHARLES HENRY BUTTON, ON 11/01/1917.

HIS NAME IS RECORDED ON THE HESSLE ROLL OF HONOUR, ALL SAINTS PARISH CHURCH.
