A WORKS FOREMAN. DESCRIBED AS 5 FOOT, 8 INCHES TALL, 150 LBS WEIGHT, 36-38 INCH CHEST. HE MARRIED AT HULL, ON 25/07/1911. HIS WIFE, CHARLOTTE MARIA EVANS (1886-1954) LIVED AT 83 REGENT STREET HULL, AND LATER MOVED TO CARMATHENSHIRE, WALES.

HE ENLISTED HULL, ON 16/11/1914. EX 16, 2ND HULL HEAVY BTY RGA. PROMOTED CORPORAL, ON 31/07/1915. POSTED OVERSEAS, ON 28/04/1916. WOUNDED ON 13/08/1916. RETURNED TO BASE. PROMOTED TO SERGEANT, ON 11/01/1917. WOUNDED AGAIN. INVALIDED TO ENGLAND ON 13/09/1917. DIED OF TUBERCULOSIS, AT KITCHENER MILITARY HOSPITAL, ON 15/01/1918, AGED 33. BURIED HULL WESTERN CEMETERY.

HIS ARMY EFFECTS WERE LEFT TO HIS WIDOW AND YOUNG DAUGHTER, RACHEL MYFANWY EVANS.
