BORN HULL 1894. AKA ‘DICKY’ FARR. ONLY SON OF CHARLES HENRY FARR (1869-1901) & FRANCES JANE JESNEY (1865-1943), OF 15, CLARENDON TERRACE, CLARENDON STREET, HULL (WAR PENSION ADDRESS). HE HAD ONE SURVIVING SISTER, EDITH. EMPLOYED AS A BRICKLAYER. DESCRIBED AS 5 FOOT, 3.5 INCHES TALL, 134 LBS WEIGHT, 35-37 INCH CHEST, BLUE EYES, FAIR HAIR, FAIR COMPLEXION & ROMAN CATHOLIC RELIGION.

HE ENLISTED AT HULL, ON 01/09/1914. SERVED WITH THE 7TH EYR. POSTED TO FRANCE, ON 13/07/1915. PROMOTED CORPORAL, ON 22/10/1915. WOUNDED N THE ANKLE IN HULY 1916. PROMOTED SERGEANT, ON24/02/1917. WOUNDED ON 24/04/1917. REPORTED MISSING AND KILLED ON 25/03/1918, AGED 24. HE HAD BEEN IN THE ARMY FOR 3 YEARS AND 204 DAYS.

HE IS COMMEMORATED ON THE ARRAS MEMORIAL, FRANCE. HIS ARMY EFFECTS WERE LEFT TO HIS MOTHER, FRANCES JANE.
