BORN HULL 1886. SON OF HENRY FIELDS (1842-1906) & MARY ELVIN WARD (1853-1915),, OF 5, ALBERT TERRACE, WASSAND STREET, HULL. HE HAD THREE SISTERS AND ONE BROTHER. HE WORKED AS A LABOURER.

HE MARRIED AT ST JOHN THE BAPTIST CHURCH, NEWINGTON, ON 24TH APRIL 1915. HIS WIFE RHOAD BAKER (1888-1943) LIVED AT 5, COMBERMERE AVENUE, WOODCOCK STREET, HULL.

HE ENLISTED IN HULL. SERVED AS A GUNNER, IN THE ROYAL GARRISON ARTILLERY. KILLED IN ACTION, ON 21/08/1917, AGED 32. BURIED IN FRANCE.

HE IS COMMEMORATED ON THE WW1 MEMORIAL, ST JOHN THE BAPTIST CHURCH, NEWINGTON, HULL, WHERE HE MARRIED.

HIS DEATH WAS REPORTED IN THE HULL DAILY MAIL, ON 24/09/1917. *

HIS WIDOW AND ONE SON, LIVED AT 5, COMBERMERE AVENUE, WOODCOCK STREET, HULL (WAR PENSION ADDRESS). THEIR SON HARRY JOHN, SADLY DIED ON 2ND MAY 1915, AGED 2.
