Flay, Albert Ernest

BORN HULL 1876. SON OF WILLIAM FLAY (1828-1889) AND ELIZABETH CARMICHAEL (1833-1925), OF 11 SALISBURY CRESCENT, NEWLAND AVENUE, HULL (WAR PENSION ADDRESS). HE HAD TWO BROTHERS AND TWO SISTERS. ALL THREE SONS DIED DURING WW1. HIS FAMILY LIVED AT 11 WELTON TERRACE, WASSAND STREET, HULL (NAVY RECORDS ADDRESS). A SHIP’S BOSUN. DROWNED 22/05/1915. AGED 38.
On May 22nd, 1915, the British steam trawler, ‘SEBASTIAN’ left Hull, and went missing. She was not heard of ever since.
