BORN HULL 1890. SON OF ARTHUR & HARRIET ANN FOSTER, AT 330, HOLDERNESS ROAD, HULL. SON OF A TIMBER MERCHANT. HE WORKED AS A TIMBER BROKER. HE MARRIED FLORENCE DIXON IN 1912 AND SHE LIVED AT DROME VILLA, HOWDEN, YORKSHIRE AND CARLAM HILL, WARNE (WAR PENSION ADDRESS).

HE ENLISTED IN HULL. SERVED WITH THE 10TH PRINCE OF WALES OWN (WEST YORKSHIRE) REGIMENT. KILLED IN ACTION, ON 14/04/1917, AGED 27. HE IS COMMEMORATED ON THE ARRAS MEMORIAL TO THE MISSING. HIS ARMY EFFECTS WERE LEFT TO HIS WIDOW, FLORENCE.
HIS BROTHER, PRIVATE, GEORGE FOSTER, NOTTS & DERBY REGIMENT, HAD BEEN KILLED, A WEEK BEFORE, ON 07/04/1917, AGED 24. HE LEFT OTHER SIBLINGS, LUCY, FRED, CLIVE HARRY, FRANK, ROBERT AND LEONARD FOSTER.
