Enlisted at Hull on 20/11/1914. Served with the Hull Pals in Egypt and France. Awarded the Distinguished Conduct Medal (DCM), on 22/09/1916. Discharged with wounds, on 05/03/1917. Awarded the Silver War Badge (No:244715). Died on 06/03/1922, aged 47.
DCM Citation – “For Conspicuous gallantry and dash. He was alone when he reached the enemy dug out, containing an officer and five men. He threw two bombs killing four and taking two prisoners.”
