BORN HULL 1895. YOUNGEST SON OF CHARLES HENRY FOSTER (1864-1932) & ANN MARIE FOSTER (1864-1940), OF 55, CONTABLE STREET, HULL (WAR PENSION ADDRESS) AND 32, REDBOURNE STREET, HULL (CWGC ADDRESS).

EMPLOYED BY THE HULL ICE COMPANY, ST ANDREWS DOCK, HULL.

HE ENLISTED IN HULL, IN 1914. FORMERLY, PRIVATE, IN THE 5TH EAST YORKSHIRE CYCLISTS. TRANSFERRED TO THE 7TH EAST YORKSHIRE REGIMENT. WOUNDED IN ACTION, IN NOVEMBER1917. HAD BEEN BACK AT THE FRONT FOR NINE WEEKS WHEN HE WAS KILLED IN ACTION, ON 08/06/1918, AGED 23. HIS DEATH WAS REPORTED IN THE HULL DAILY MAIL, ON 05/07/1918. *

COMMEMORATED AT THE POZIERES MEMORIAL. UNMARRIED. HIS ARMY EFFECTS WERE LEFT TO BOTH PARENTS.

HE LEFT BROTHER GEORGE, AND SISTERS, EMILY, ETHEL, HILDA AND EDITH.
