HE MARRIED, ROSE ELLEN FLOCTON (1884-1951), AT HULL, IN 1906, AGED 24. HIS WIFE ELLEN ROSE FOSTER & 2 CHILDREN, LIVED AT 331, HAWTHORNE AVENUE, HULL, 3, MRYTLE GROVE, WOODCOCK STREET, HULL (1911 CENSUS) AND 35, BRIGHTON STREET, HULL (WAR PENSION ADDRESS). HE WORKED AS A PAINTER.

HE ENLISTED HULL. FORMERLY, PRIVATE, 25036, EAST YORKSHIRE REGIMENT. TRANSFERRED TO THE 27TH TYNESIDE IRISH. KILLED AT ARRAS, ON 09/04/1917, AGED 25. COMMEMORATED ON THE ARRAS MEMORIAL. HIS ARMY EFFECTS WERE LEFT TO HIS WIDOW, ROSE. SHE RECEIVED A WEEKLY WAR PENSION, OF 22 SHILLINGS AND 11 PENCE, ON 10/12/1917.
