SECOND SON OF EDWARD FOSTON (1867-1914), A DOCKSIDE LABOURER, & SARAH ANN PICKETT (1874-1940), AT THIS CWGC ADDRESS, 11 GROTTO SQUARE, NEW GEORGE STREET AND 29 CHRISTOPHER STREET,HULL. SON OF A DOCKSIDE LABOURER. ONE OF SEVEN BROTHERS AND YOUNGEST SISTER. THEY LOST THREE OF THEIR SEVEN SONS IN THE WAR. EMPLOYED AS AN OIL MILL LABOURER. HE MARRIED ANNIE E. MOISER IN 1915 AND LIVED WITH HIS WIFE AT 6 CENTRAL AVENUE, CENTRAL STREET, CUMBERLAND STREET. HE ENLISTED IN HULL. DIED OF SHRAPNEL WOUNDS TO THE HIP, ON 09/08/1915, AGED 23, IN THE 1ST CANADIAN GENERAL HOSPITAL, FRANCE. HIT IN THE HIP BY A SHELL BLAST. HIS DEATH AND PHOTOGRAPH ARE REPORTED IN THE HULL DAILY MAIL ON 11TH AUGUST 1915, AND THE HULL TIMES ON 14TH AUGUST 1915, WITH HIS PHOTOGRAPH. *
HIS BROTHER THOMAS, EYR DIED OF WOUNDS ON 01/09/1916, AGED 21.
