SECOND SON OF EDWARD FOSTON (1867-1914), & SARAH ANN PICKETT (1874-1940), AT THIS HULL DAILY MAIL ADDRESS. HE JOINED THE ARMY AR 16. SERVED AS SERGEANT, IN THE EAST YORKSHIRE REGIMENT. PREVIOUSLY WOUNDED HE RETURNED TO THE FRONT LINE. WOUNDED AGAIN, HE DIED OF WOUNDS A FEW WEEKS LATER, IN A LONDON HOSPITAL. HE WAS BURIED AT HEDON ROAD AND LEFT A WIDOW AND YOUNG CHILD.
THERE ARE NO CWGC DETAILS FOR SERGENAT MICHAEL FOSTON, BUT HIS DEATH AND PHOTOGRAPH WERE REPORTED IN THE HULL DAILY MAIL
HE HAD FIVE BROTHERS SERVING, ONE IN THE HUSSARS, ANOTHER IN SALONIKA, A BROTHER TRAINING IN REDCAR, ANOTHER BROTHER ALREADY KILLED IN THE WAR. HE IS RECORDED AS KILLED ON HULL’S NEW GEORGE STREET ROLL OF HONOUR (Hull Daily Mail 03 November 1917)
