Foxcroft, Walter Baines

Born Bradford 1896. Son of Frank Baines Foxcroft (1865-1943) and Louisa Foxcroft (1863-1928), of 14, Hull Road., Hedon, Hull. (CWGC Address). A weigh clerk. Enlisted in Hull. Served as Private, 10/21, 1st East Yorkshire Regiment. Died of wounds, on the 5th June 1915, aged 19. He is buried, in France. His grave inscription, reads, “WHEN THE ROLL IS CALLED UP YONDER I’LL BE THERE”
His only brother, Arnold Foxcroft, served as Private, 9863, in the 1st East Yorkshire Regiment, and survived the war.
