Friston, William Edwin

Born Hull 1880. Son of Richard and Mary Ann Friston (1853-1933), of 2 Marshall’s Yard, Myton Gate, Hull . Son of a builder’s labourer. He had a brother, Richard (1884-1963) and two sisters, Rose and Minnie. He married at Hull, in 1907. Husband of Prudence Coggin (1878-1908). They had two sons, Richard (1907-1991) and Cyril (1908-1917). He was working as an erecter and boarding in Llanelly, Wales (1911 Census).

Served as a Sergeant, 290828, Royal Garrison Artillery. Discharged as disabled on 10/05/1919. Died of war effects, on 09/03/1923, aged 43. His army effects were left to his mother, Mary Ann, at 2 Marshall’s Yard, Myton Gate, Hull. (Pension Ledger Address)
