David Charles Galvin

Born Kentish Town, Bow, East London 1883. Son of David and Ellen M. Galvin, of 57, Hassett Rd., Homerton, London;

He married at Hackney, in 1909. Husband of Rose  Mary Hopper (1886-1959), of 5, School Lane, Walkergate, Beverley, Yorks. They had daughters, Constance and Leana and sons, Charles and Terrence.

A Professional Soldier, before war began. Resided Beverley. Rose through the ranks. Served as Company Sergeant Major, in the 4th East Yorkshire Regiment. H ewas killed in action, on 10th April 1918, aged 35.

He is commemorated on the Ploegsteert Memorial, Arrondissement de Mouscron, Hainaut, Belgium
