Lux, built by Forges & Chantiers de la Méditerranée, Havre in 1893 and owned at the time of her loss by Lane & Macandrew, London, was a British tanker of 2621 tons. On February 5th, 1917, Lux, on a voyage from New York to Calais with a cargo of refined petroleum, was sunk by the German submarine U-60 (Karl Georg Schuster) 50 miles west of Mizen Head.
