BORN HULL 13/09/1882. SON OF ENOCH GEYTON (1857-1942) & MARY JANE JACKSON ( 1859-1942), OF 6 SOUTHCOATES AVENUE, HULL. HE MARRIED ANNIE PENTITH FISWICK , ON 28/02/1914, AT ST ANDREWS CHURCH, HULL. HIS WIFE ANNIE AND DAUGHTER ANN LIVED AT 89 , LEE SMITH STREET, HULL. EMPLOYED AS A JOINER (1911 CENSUS) AND PRISON WARDEN IN 1912. ALTHOUGH IN A RESERVED OCCUPATION, HE VOLUNTEERED FOR SERVICE AND ENLISTED AT MANCHESTER, IN 1915. SERVED AS A GUNNER, IN THE ROYAL GARRISON ARTILLERY. HE WAS KILLED AT WESTHOEK RIDGE, YPRES, ON 09/11/1917, AGED 35. HIS ARMY EFFECTS WERE LEFT TO HIS WIDOW, ANNIE. THEY HAD A DAUGHTER, ALSO CALLED ANNIE (1914-1979).

HE LEFT SISTER SOPHIA AND BROTHER, ENOCH EDWARD GEYTON WHO SERVED IN THE ARMY SERVICE CORPS. HAROLD IS BURIED AT YPRES RESERVOIR CEMETERY, BELGIUM. HIS GRAVE INSCRIPTION, READS, “JESU LOVER OF MY SOUL”
