Gibson, James Valentine

Born Ferryhill, Durham, 1893. Son of Mary and the late George Gibson (1848-1896), of Howe End, Kirbymoorside, Yorkshire (CWGC) address) & 145, Beverley Road Hull (War Pension address). He had three brothers and five sisters. Worked as a Commercial Clerk.

Enlisted at Thornaby-on-Tees, Yorkshire. Served as Corporal, in the Royal Field Artillery, 81st Bty. 5th Bde. Killed in action. on 18/10/1918, aged 25. His army effects were left to his mother, Mary.

Buried at Premont British Cemetery, Aisne, France. His Grave inscription, reads, “HIS SUN WENT DOWN WHILST IT WAS YET DAY”
