BORN LITTLE KELK, DRIFFIELD, 1880. SON OF ROBERT GOODILL (1856-1922) AND CAROLINE PEACE, OF 17, BROUGHAM STREET, ALBERT AVENUE, HULL. HE WORKED FOR THE NORTH EASTERN RAILWAYS AS A RAILWAY BRAKES EXAMINER.

HE MARRIED AT HULL IN 1910. HIS WIFE VIOLET MIRIAM (GEDNEY) AND THREE CHILDREN, LIVED AT 8, REGENT’S TERRACE, NORWOOD STREET, HULL (WAR PENSION ADDRESS) AND 2 PERTH VILLAS, PERTH STREET, HULL (CWGC ADDRESS). HE SERVED IN THE BOER WAR AND TWO BROTHERS ALSO SERVED.

HE RE-ENLISTED IN HULL. SERVED WITH THE 2ND KING’S OWN YORKSHIRE LIGHT INFANTRY. HE WAS KILLED IN ACTION, ON 21/10/1914, AGED 34. HIS DEATH AND PHOTOGRAPH IS REPORTED IN THE HULL DAILY MAIL ON 22/10/1917, AND HULL TIMES, ON 12TH DECEMBER 1914. *
