BORN HYDE, CHESHIRE 1886. HUSBAND OF MRS E E GRAHAM OF 4 EBOR AVENUE, MIDDLETON STREET, HULL (CWGC ADDRESS). SON OF JOHN GRAHAM, OF EAST ELLA LODGE, ANLABY ROAD, HULL. BEFORE ENLISTING HE WORKED FOR MESSRS MAYFIELD, PAINT WORKS, AT 45 SCULCOATES LANE.

HE SERVED AS A GUNNER, IN THE ROYAL GARRISON ARTILLERY. KILLED IN ACTION, ON THE 30TH SEPTEMBER 1918, AGED 32. HE LEFT A WIDOW AND TWO CHILDREN. HIS DEATH WAS REPORTED IN THE HULL DAILY MAIL ON THE 9TH OCTOBER 1918, WITH HIS PHOTOGRAPH. *

HE IS BURIED AT FINS NEW BRITISH CEMETERY, SOREL-LE-GRAND, SOMME, FRANCE. HIS GRAVE READS, “THY WILL BE DONE”.

HIS BEST FRIEND, ERNEST MITCHEL, LIVED AT 20 RODNEY STREET, HULL AND WROTE “ONE OF THE BEST”. (HDM, 09/10/1918)
