HE HAD TWO BROTHERS AND FOUR SISTERS. WORKED AS A FRUIT PORTER. DESCRIBED AS 5 FOOT, 3.5 INCHES TALL, 123 LBS WEIGHT, 35-37 INCH CHEST, BLUE EYES, BROWN HAIR, WESLYEAN RELIGION.

HE MARRIED DORA NICHOLSON (1896-1927), AT HULL, ON 28/11/1917. HIS WIFE DORA LIVED AT, 2, CRAVEN STREET, HULL HOLDERNESS ROAD, HULL (WAR PENSION ADDRESS).

HE ENLISTED AT HULL, ON 02/09/1914. POSTED TO FRANCE, ON 12/05/1915. SERVED AS A GUNNER, IN THE ROYAL FIELD ARTILLERY. KILLED IN ACTION, ON 02/10/1918, AGED 28. COMMEMORATED ON THE YPRES, MENIN GATE MEORIAL, BELGIUM.
