BORN 1864. SON OF WILLIAM GRAVES, OF 2 CRAVEN TERRACE, GILLETT STREET, HULL. (CWGC ADDRESS). A FORMER SEAMAN.

HE ENLISTED AT HULL, ON 27/02/1915. DESCRIBED AS 5 FOOT 9.5 INCHES TALL, HAZEL EYES, GREY HAIR, OCCUPATION, FISH CARTER. FORMERLY. PRIVATE, 3498, 2N/4TH  EAST YORKSHIRE REGIMENT. TRANSFERRED TO THE 55TH PROTECTION COMPANY, ROYAL DEFENCE CORPS, ON 29/04/1916. DISCHARGED AS MEDICALLY UNFIT, ON 16/07/1918 (RHEUMATISM AND BRONCHITIS). RECORDED AS “VERY GOOD” MILITARY CHARACTER. HE DIED OF THE FLU PANDEMIC, ON 16/05/1919, AGED 55 AND IS BURIED IN HULL WESTERN CEMETERY.
