BORN GOOLE 05/08/1897. SON OF GEORGE ALFRED GREEN (1867-1938) & ALICE MARY STATHER (1864-1940), OF 51, LEE STREET, HOLDERNESS ROAD, HULL (1911 CENSUS) AND 88, SUMMERGANGS ROAD, HULL. SON OF A TRAIN SIGNALMAN. HE HAD THREE BROTHERS. EMPLOYED AS A MOTOR MECHANIC WITH MESSRS, PEGDENS, CLARENDON STREET, HULL.

HE ENLISTED IN HULL PALS. TRANSFERRED TO THE 7TH EAST YORKSHIRE REGIMENT. KILLED IN ACTION, ON 08/02/1917, AGED 19. HE IS COMMEMORATED ON THE THIEPVAL MEMORIAL. HIS DEATH WAS REPORTED IN THE HULL DAILY MAIL, ON 27/02/1917. *
