Grice, James

Born Goole, 1898.  Only child of Mrs. Esmina Whitley Stone, of 10, Olive Grove, Subway Street, Hull (1911 Census) and 15, Pickering Rd., Neepsend, Sheffield (CWGC address).

He enlisted in Hull, Served in the 1/4th East Yorkshire Regiment. Posted to France, on 17/04/1915. Died of wounds, on 20/06/1916, aged 18. His army effects were left to his mother, Esmina.

Buried in France, His CWGC grave inscription reads, “REMEMBRANCE A FLOWER THAT NEVER FADES WHEN WATERED BY A MOTHER’S TEARS”
