Born Hull 1898. Son of Michael and Louisa Croke, of 5, Harding’s Square, New George Street, Hull (1911 Census address).

Served in the Notts and Derby Regiment. Re-Enlisted in the East Yorkshire Regiment. Served in 1st EY Battalion, A Company. His regimental numbers were Private, 4334563, 59278, 23759, 241957. His army cards record him as both Thomas Groke and William Groke?. He died at Shorncliffe, Kent on 19/03/1922. He is recorded as T Groke, on the st Charles Borromeo Memorial, Jarratt Street, Hull. There are no CWGC records of his death.

His army effects were shared between his siblings, Mary McGowan, Nora Betts, Katie and Louise Groke, brothers, Thomas and Michael Groke, who both served in the East Yorkshire regiment.
