BORN GLANFORD, BRIGG, 1886. aka EDMUND FOWLER GUNSON. SON OF LATE THOMAS ROADES GUNSON (1849-1905) & ELIZABETH FOWLER (1850-1892). BROTHER OF ALICE, RUTH JOHN & EVA, OF  ALDBOROUGH, LINCS. HIS MOTHER DIED WHEN HE WAS SIX YEARS OLD. HIS FATHER DIED WHEN HE WAS NINETEEN. HE DOES NOT APPEAR IN CENSUS RECORDS, SO HIS OCCUPATION AND WHEREABOUTS ARE LARGELY UNKNOWN. HIS MARRIED SISTER, RUTH GREEN, LIVED AT 45 MANVERS STREET, HULL AND 48 , TAVISTOCK STREET, NEWLAND AVENUE, HULL

HE ENLISTED AT HULL. SERVED WITH THE 1/4TH EYR. KILLED IN ACTION, ON 10/09/1916, AGED 29. HIS ARMY EFFECTS WERE LEFT TO HIS SIBLINGS AND NEICES.

HIS NAME IS LISTED ON ST JOHNS THE BAPTIST CHURCH WW1 ROLL OF HONOUR, NEWINGTON, HULL.

HIS BROTHER, JOHN WILLIAM GUNSON, (1882-1962), SERVED IN THE NORTH STAFFORDSHIRE REGIMENT, DURING THE WAR.

HIS DEATH WAS REPORTED IN THE HULL DAILY MAIL, ON THE 27TH SEPTEMBER 1916, WITH THIS ADDRESS AND PHOTOGRAPH. *
