BORN HULL 28/02/1898. SON OF FRANCIS GUY (1879-1930) AND ALICE JANE SPENCER (1877-1965), OF 31 KENT STREET, HULL (WAR PENSION ADDRESS) AND 27, LILAC AVENUE, GARDEN VILLAGE, HULL (CWGC ADDRESS).

HE ENLISTED IN HULL. SERVED WITH THE SHERWOOD FORESTERS. DIED OF WOUNDS ON 28/04/1917, AGED 19.
UNMARRIED. HE LEFT SIBLINGS, BEATRICE, JOHN, HARRY, ALICE, THOMAS, CLIFFORD, FRANCIS AND ARTHUR WILLIAM GUY. HIS ARMY EFFECTS WERE LEFT TO HIS GRANDMOTHER, ALICE JANE SPENCER. HE IS BURIED ON THE SOMME, AT LA CHAPELETTE BRITISH AND INDIAN CEMETERY, PERONNE. HIS GRAVE INSCRIPTION, READS, “TOO DEARLY LOVED TO BE FORGOTTEN FROM ALL AT HOME”.
HIS BROTHER, FRANCIS GUY, L/11870, SERVED IN THE ROYAL NAVY, ON HMS ‘DAUNTLESS’, AND WAS ACCIDENTALLY DROWNED ON 27/07/1920, AGED 19.
