BORN IDLE, BRADFORD, YORKSHIRE 1891. SON OF MARY HARRIET HALL & FREDERICK JACOB VOSS (STEP FATHER), OF 6, NELSON’S VILLAS, EGTON STREET, HULL (WAR PENSION ADDRESS). HE WORKED AS A SAW MILL LABOURER, LIVING AT 11, STANLEY TERRACE, LEE SMITH STREET, HULL (1911 CENSUS).

HE ENLISTED IN HULL, BUT RESIDED IN BRADFORD. SERVED WITH THE 12TH EAST YORKSHIRE REGIMENT. KILLED IN ACTION AT OPPY WOOD, ON 03/05/1917, AGED 26. HE IS COMMEMORATED ON THE ARRAS MEMORIAL.
