HE ENLISTED IN HULL. SERVED WITH THE 10TH NORTHUMBERLAND FUSILIERS. KILLED IN ACTION, IN FRANCE, ON 03/12/1915, AGED 21.
HIS DEATH WAS REPORTED IN THE HULL DAILY MAIL WITH HIS PHOTOGRAPH ON 16TH DECEMBER 1915, AND IN THE HULL TIMES, ON 18TH DECEMBER 1915, WITH HIS PHOTOGRAPH. *
BURIED AT RATION FARM MILITARY CEMETERY, LA CHAPELLE-D’ARMENTIERES. HIS GRAVE INSCRIPTION, READS, “IN LOVING MEMORY OF OUR DARLING BOY FROM MOTHER, FATHER & GLADYS”

HIS NAME IS INSCRIBED ON THE STONE PILLARS OF ST MATY’S CHURCH, SCULCOATES LANE, HULL.
