BORN HULL 1890. JAMES & THE LATE ANN ELIZABETH MAY HARRISON, 6 CAMBRIDGE TERRACE, CAMBRIDGE STREET, HULL. A SEAMAN. LOST AT SEA, ON 18/06/1918, AGED 28.
SS Dwinsk, built by Harland & Wolff, Belfast in 1897 and owned at the time of her loss by Cunard Steam Ship Company Ltd. England, was a British passenger steamer of 8173 tons.
On June 18th, 1918, Dwinsk, on a voyage from Brest to New York, was torpedoed and sunk by gunfire by the German submarine U-151 (Heinrich von Nostitz und Jänckendorff), 400 miles NExN3/4N Bermuda. 23 persons were lost.
