BORN GOOLE 1891. SON OF JOHN & CAROLINE HARRISON, AT 29 ARLINGTON STREET, ANLABY ROAD, HULL. A FORMER TERRITORIAL IN THE NORTH RIDING ROYAL GARRISON ARTILLERY. HE EMIGRATED TO AUSTRALIA. WORKED AS A CHAFFEUR MECHANIC, AT CRITERION MOTOR GARAGE, MURRAY STREET, PERTH, WESTERN AUSTRALIA. ENLISTED IN PERTH, WA, ON 29/01/1917, AGED 26 YEARS AND 6 MONTHS. HE STATED THAT HE WAS BORN IN HULL. DESCRIBED AS 5 FOOT 8.5 INCHES TALL, 131 LBS WEIGHT, 35.5 INCH CHEST, DEFECTIVE TEETH, GREY EYES, DARK HAIR GOING GREY, “FRESH” COMPLEXION, SCARS UNDER LEFT EYE, UNDER RIGHT JAW, AND RIGHT SHIN.AND ROMAN CATHOLIC RELIGION. TRAINED AT FREMANTLE, ARRIVED IN FRANCE ON 04/12/1917, AS REINFORCEMENTS FOR THE 44TH AIF. REPORTED MISSING/KILLED ON 28/03/1918, AGED 27. HIS DEATH WAS LATER CONFIRMED BY PRIVATE, C FRANCIS, AND SGT, YULE, AS KILLED AT 9PM, BY MACHINE GUN BULLETS, WHILE ASSAULTING THE SMALL VILLAGE OF CORBIE. JOHN HENRY HARRISON HAD WROTE A WILL, ON THE 11/05/1917, LEAVING ALL HIS ARMY EFFECTS TO HIS FATHER.
