BORN HULL 1898. KNOWN AS ‘VINCENT’ HARVEY. ONLY SON OF FREDERICK & LAURA HARVEY. ALL LIVED WITH HIS GRANDMOTHER JANE SMITH, AT 69 , DE LA POLE AVENUE, HULL. BEFORE THE WAR, HE WORKED FOR THE HULL AND BARNSLEY RAILWAYS, IN THE CARRIAGE AND WAGON DEPARTMENT, SPRINGHEAD, HULL.

HE ENLISTED IN HULL, AGED ONLY 16 YEARS OLD. SERVED AS A GUNNER IN THE ROYAL FIELD ARTILLERY. TWICE WOUNDED AND ALSO PREVIOUSLY GASSED. HE WAS KILLED IN ACTION, ON 18/09/1918, AGED 20.

UNMARRIED. HE LEFT TWO OLDER SISTERS, GRACE AND GERTUDE. ONE OF THEM, MRS ELLIS, LIVED AT 19 CHATHAM STREET, ALBERT AVENUE, HULL.
