BORN HULL 1895. ELDEST SON OF JAMES & FANNY HARVEY, OF 287, WINCOLMLEE & 211, AND 18, JAMES RECKITT AVENUE, HULL (WAR PENSION ADDRESS). SON OF A LABOURER. HE WORKED FOR RECKITT’S IN HULL.

HE ENLISTED IN HULL. FORMERLY, PRIVATE, 21022, EAST YORKSHIRE REGIMENT. TRANSFERRED TO THE 20TH MACHINE GUN CORPS. KILLED IN ACTION ON 01/04/1918, AGED 23. HIS ARMY EFFECTS WERE LEFT TO HIS FATHER, JAMES HARVEY AND THEN TO HIS MOTHER FANNY, WHO MOVED TO 18, JAMES RECKITT AVENUE, HULL (PENSION LEDGER ADDRESS).

HE IS BURIED AT HANGARD COMMUNAL CEMETERY EXTENSION, SOMME, FRANCE. HIS GRAVE, READS, “ONE OF THE BEST TOO DEARLY LOVED TO BE FORGOTTEN”.

HIS NAME IS RECORDED ON THE RECKITTS WW1 MEMORIAL, HULL.
