Born New York City, USA, on 18 Feb 1883. Son of Alice Hauser, of Bowling Green, Kentucky. He left America, in 1899 and arrived in Hull, in 1901. He was a sea farer and fisherman. He married Martha Hannah Bird at Hull, in 1904. He enlisted before his passport expired on 16/11/1916.
Served as Company Sergeant Major, 1848602, Royal Engineers. Died of cirrhosis of the liver, at Basra, Iraq, on 11/11/1921.
